Lymphatic Drainage is a therapeutic procedure designed specifically to relieve pain and reduce inflammation. Any person that has a surgical procedure will experience great levels of inflammation as a side-
WHAT IS FIBROSIS?
Fibrosis is the name given to those little balls and lumps that you feel forming under your skin about one to two weeks after a surgical procedure. These massages allow for better circulation of the blood, and reduces edema, and improves the texture of skin to ensure a better healing process. Lymphatic drainage massages should only be performed by a certified lymphedema therapist.
The purpose of these massages is to eliminate liquid that tends to accumulate and harden forming into a fibrosis.
WHY DO I NEED LYMPH MASSAGE
When lymph drainage is sluggish or impaired, the waste and toxins that should be eliminated can be stored in our fat. There they stay, causing symptoms from stiffness and puffiness to skin irritation, fatigue, severe swelling, physical pain, and weight gain.
Mild and severe symptoms can be relieved with lymphatic drainage.
CAN THIS HELP ME?
A number of clients have found mld treatments helpful in recovering after liposuction, breast enhancement, and other kinds of surgery where the lymphatic system had been damaged.
“Some plastic surgeons in France and the United States will not do elective surgery without a regime of lymphatic drainage before and after surgery” …..the results of healing are so much greater.
Who can perform lymphatic massage therapy?
A Massage therapist with specialized training in the Vodder Technique can perform this painless, relaxing and effective manual therapy. Performing an effective lymphatic drainage massage requires special knowledge, training and experience. The therapist must understand how the lymphatic system works, both anatomically and physiologically, in order to move the fluid effectively. Certified therapists are often referred patients by medical doctors for treatment of several acute and chronic conditions.
