JAPANESE FOOT MASSAGE:

Zoku shin do

An old Japanese proverb says, “The foot is the gate of ten thousand different illnesses.”  Zoku Shin Do focuses on the body as a whole system that can be improved through foot massage. This ancient healing art form has been a well-established system for over 2,500 years. its potential for improving well-being and restoring overall health has been demonstrated throughout two millennia.

THE IMPORTANCE OF TREATING THE FEET

The stress and habits of the modern lifestyle cause an excessive amount of foot strain. Some jobs require extended periods of standing in a single position. Long working hours leave little time for exercise. Some shoes no longer provide adequate support for the feet ,and can cause distortions. Applied regularly, Japanese foot massage helps to counteract some of these negative effects on the feet.

In Eastern Asia, the foot is traditionally known as the “Barometer,” reflecting the condition of health. The relatively small surface area of the feet is responsible for supporting the weight of the entire body. Even a slight misalignment in the feet can cause spinal distortion, which not only negatively impacts posture, but has a damaging effect on the entire nervous system as well, which is contained largely within the spinal column. Because the nervous system directly controls the functions of the internal organs, a person;s overall condition is dependent on the health of the spine, which is directly linked to the condition of the feet. (Mochizuki. 1999).

HOW FREQUENTLY SHOULD I  RECEIVE TREATMENT?

Receiving shorter treatments once a week is more beneficial than receiving a long massage only once a month. When you receive frequent massages, you are less likely to accumulate tension; therefore, it takes less time for you to reduce tension. Ideally, you should receive a massage treatment every 7-10 days to retain treatment benefits.

AFTER YOUR MASSAGE

Drinking water after the treatment helps eliminate toxins from their body. Tea, coffee, soda or even juices are not good substitutes. Warm water is ideal,  Cold water chills the internal organs and decreases circulation. If you do not drink enough water, toxins will stay in the bloodstream and your treatment will be less effective.
